News on HS2 in Hillingdon

From 7 October we will be completing the ground strengthening works required to build the new rail bridge over Breakspear Road South. This activity involves the use of a rig placing stone columns into the earth to form part of the foundations. The use of stone rather than concrete into the earth significantly reduces the amount of spoil and the number of vehicle movements.

The equipment will be brought to the works area from the first of October, with the creation of the stone columns starting a week later.
