HS2 Works Notification: Lane closures for utilities surveys in Harvil Road, October 2020

In order to keep Harvil Road open during HS2’s construction, we will need to realign it temporarily. To help us prepare for the realignment, we need to carry out some utility surveys to make sure that our work will not affect supplies or services.

We will carry out Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys to identify the location of all utilities, and CCTV surveys of the sewer system to understand its condition. We will then dig small trial holes to understand the condition of all the other utilities.

The GPR and CCTV surveys will be carried out within the duration of a working day. However, because the trial holes need to be excavated, some lane closures – controlled by traffic lights – will be needed throughout the 24hr periods.

There will be no interference with utilities services.
