HS2 Works Notification: Piling Works on Harvil Road further update, January 2021.

Further update:

We would like to apologise for any disturbance caused as a result of our recent piling works at Harvil Road.

The installation of sheet piles at the Northern boundary of Harvil Road is needed to complete the realignment of the road later this year. The piling activity was noisier than we had anticipated due to the ground conditions encountered by the construction team once our works began.

As a result of the noise generated, and having assessed the findings from our noise monitors, we decided to temporarily pause these works. We have reviewed the methodology of the operation to try to minimise any further disruption.

Before we continue with these works, we will be trialling some new methodology which should allow us to recommence our piling works with far less noise being created. Yesterday's trial (Tuesday 19 January 2021) did not go ahead as planned due to weather conditions. We will be undertaking these trials this week subject to weather conditions for approximately two hours, utilising additional noise reduction measures to manage this impact.

We apologise in advance for any disturbance caused as we look to refine our working practices and would like to assure you that this activity will be continually monitored and assessed to ensure that we minimise any further disturbance wherever possible.

Please see our update works notification .
